I have 2 CPU's and 2 systems but am not sure which to use for what system.
I have a home server. It does transcoding of audio and video for a PS3 and file/print sharing as well as transparent firewall/routing for my network. Also running a software raid 5 array on it. It has a 7750BE running at 3.0Ghz in it right now. Hits 70-80%+ CPU usage when transcoding a highly compressed 1080p file for the PS3 but doesnt skip or slow down. Im barely getting by i guess with this CPU.
Im building a HTPC and i have a Phenom I 2.3Ghz quad core. HTPC will only be used for video/audio playback and web surfing in the bedroom, no gaming.
Should i swap the Phenom quad into the server and use the 7750 for the HTPC?
Or leave the 7750 where it is?
I am aware both these CPU's kinda suck but its what i have on hand.
