ok, so the USA, Britian, Afghanistan, Canada, and most european countries are involved in this war on terrorism, Columbia's civil war is looking like it will flare up again, Packistan and inda are almost at war, Israel and Palestinians are fighting more than normal, argentina was on the brink of collapse... man what a year, and it's only Jan 10th! Happy new years!

They did in strictly a support role, not sending actual troops to willingly engage in combat.

Whether on the front lines or helping behind the lines, they're still part of it.

Two destroyers, two supply vessels and a minesweeper tender with about 1,200 crew members on board have left their home ports to provide non-combat support for the attacks.

The vessels are being sent abroad under a plan approved by the cabinet of Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi two weeks ago.
