so zebo means that there is no difference in terms of overclockability and/or stability?
TWINX1024-3200C2 costs about 50 euros more that the value version

so there should be no prob to oc the 3000+ to some 2,5. I know fery few about the mem stuff.
So I'll put my question simple: does the value ram have any influence on overclocking / stability?

It does, if you keep the ratio at 1:1. When you use dividers, you can keep the ram in spec (or close) so that it doesn't limit your CPU's potential or cause instability. This is a relatively new development in overclocking, since dividers only became widely available recently (~2 yrs.?) and until A64 using a divider meant a considerable performance penalty.

Except for WINRAR and Sandra (synthetic), in the real world A64 loses only 0-2% running a divider. So get Value ram and drop the rest of the money towards another component.

I see, that sounds reasonable. thank you. Just wondering then what's all the fuss about expensive ram? Is it just moneymaking by Corsair & Co.?

It's that assertion in combination with some other things:

No major site had done a review like Zebo's, so the information is not that widespread.

It probably still makes a substantial difference in P4 performance.

Better RAM is still valuable for certain apps and for people who feel that they want to have the best system they can even if it costs more.

Well, yes I suppose it's like buying a BTC and a PLEXTOR DVD burner. they both just burn...but plextor simply has all the extras that make it No. 1.
