Hey guys/gals,

I need AV software that will run off a file server and be able to protect the server and about ten workstations. I'd like to only have to update the software on the server itself and run any necessary virus scans directly off the server so I can also do it remotely.

Any advice on products for this?

SAV Corporate Edition

or

Mcafee Enterprise Edition

both are solid products that in no way reflect the utter crap of their consumer level antivirus software

McAfee ePO 3.5 rocks da houze :D Also, first set up a system with an independent VirusScan Enterprise 8.0i installation that has its own update tasks and settings all set up, then use Installation Designer 8.1 on that computer to "capture" the setup and generate a custom installer that has all that stuff built in.

Now feed the custom installer to ePO in place of the stock one, so that it's distributing VSE8 installs that can run their own show if the ePO Agent on that system conks out (or the ePO server gets messed up).

My general config ideas here: www.omnicast.net/~tmcfadden/vse8/index.html

edit: for just ten systems, McAfee's rep will probably push a simpler ProtectionPilot setup on you. I've tried that too, but I think ePO is better.
