Which Core Duo ?

I don't do any gaming whatsoever, but a lot of photo editing (Photoshop and Corel Photo Paint) and some DVD copying. I see that I can get an E6300 Conroe for $171.99.

What I'm wondering is can I get by with an E4500 Allendale for $129.99?
Also, what's the difference between the Allendale E4500 and E4400?

There's no reason you can't get by with a E2180 and save even more. Your applications don't benefit from the extra cache of the E6xxx or E4xxx, whereas gamers would benefit.

Many recent threads here as to the exact MB and RAM for your budget PC.

E4400 is 2.0 GHz, E4500 is 2.2 GHz. E4400 can be an older stepping with slightly higher typical power draw.
