My family just purchased the Panasonic 2.4ghz DSS /w answering / Caller ID
The phone was $179.99, yet the quality of sound was horrible.

So... looking for an 2.4ghz DSS /w answering and CID display, must have speaker phone, and be mountable to the wall.

What companies are good? Uniden? Vtech? AT&T? RadioShack? Panasonic? Sony?

You got that model with the corded base and extra handset?...part of panasonics old stlye-weather resistant gigarange series....

Actually some of the best phones in my experience were the old DSS 900mhz panasonic phones. They are so hard to find anymore.

I have an AT&T phone. the only thing i don't like about it is, when i take it off the base it doesn't automatically engage when the phone is ringing and it won't automatically hang up again when i put it back on the base like my panasonic.

i bought the first 2.4 ghz panasonic phone when it came out 4 or so years ago. i still have it. i like it but it didn't have caller id built in. 🙁

Radio Shack, AT&T, Sprint, Bell, etc do not make their own phones. They farm out production to other companies.

My family has had good luck with Panasonic.

siemens,

im sick of panasonics, their battery seems to only last for like half hour for every panasonic that i owned.

Siemens

got a Siemens ISDN telcom station it is with, Answering machine, Isdn card, ISDN cordless phone (can even send SMS too if ur phone company does it) USB connection ....

Ok, you recommend Panasonic when he says that the Panasonic sucks? I'm baffled.

Try Sony. We had one of their Spread Spectrum 900MHz phones, and it was terrific. Great battery life, great features, great sound quality. I'm out of the States right now and haven't looked at phones in a couple years, but I would be surprised if they didn't have the exact model you want (they used to with the 900MHz ones).
