Folks Im a hard core game and recently had the Boomslang 2000 which was designed from the ground up to be a hi FPS and DPI mouse to give you the utmost precision. Since I upgraded to WIN XP, The Boomslang middle mouse scrolling option has become inconsistant and Boomslang is working on XP drivers but for the meantime I went out and picked up an OPTICAL CORDLESS Logitech Mouseman for $69 and love the freedom it gives but the only thing I am left feeling a bit uncomfortable with is the mouse motion doesnt seem as fluid as the Boomslang.....(I have tweaked all the speeds, and acceleration levels every which way) I think the reason is simply because the Boomslang was a 2000 DPI mouse and the Mouseman is an 800 DPI. Well now I am wondering if I should get the top of the line Microsoft Cordless optical. Do you think the performance of this mouse would be smoother and better?

Basically I just would now like to know how the Logitech and Explorer Cordless Optical mice compare head to head in precision, and performance?

ANyone have any thoughts or even better yet a web site that may have reviewed BOTH??

thanks all!

Well for one thing your just not going to get the same performance from a cordless mouse compared to your Boomslang. The Boomslang is literally as precise as you can get in a mouse, and no way is the Optical Cordless, what with its much lower sampling rate and then the transmission lag and errors generated in that, that it can match that. If you want a real optical mouse go with a Logitech Optical or a Microsoft Optical
