Which cooler for a Athlon/thunderbird socket A?

Just bought a AXIA 1gig and am wondering which is the best(air cooled)cooler there is? Could someone give me the top say 5 coolers? Also looking for one that comes with a farely quiet but good fan

Thanks

I don't remember the link, but I saw a list of around 15 fans from the best to worst in terms of cooling ability. The difference between the various HSF's was considerable. The best cooler was pretty loud, as I'm sure comes as no surprise. The worst cooler was the stock HSF that comes with the Athlon's, at least that's how I read the chart. Right in the middle of the pack was the one I got, the ThermalTake Volcano II, $8 from newegg.com. This unit looks far better than almost all the HSF's I saw at a computer show recently, and sells for a lot less than most.

I took a thin phillips screwdriver and removed the fan from the sink and put rubber between, 3/32 inch slicings from a rubber hose, and that totally eliminated the high pitched squeal I was hearing.

Swiftech 462A, Thermalright SK 6, Zalman i forget the model, OCZ gladiator aka SVC golden gate, Dragon Orb 3. there is also a new alpha which beats them all

The SVC goldent gate is the cheapest of all and performs right up there with the SK6 and you can get it cheap for about 25 dollars with a good quiet fan for 24.99 from here
