Which Content Management System?

Shortly here I will be building a new site, and with it will need a beefier content management system that the WordPress I am using now. Foremost among the requirements are that it be able to support a members-only section. I would also like it to be able to let the users register themselves, so that I dont have to do it for them every time a new user joins. I am partial to PHP/MySQL because thats what I know, and Perl is a pain in the ass.

Any suggestions? My first thoughts are pMachine or ExpressionEngine, but I have yet to find an easy way to let users register themselves (I havent played with them that much though). I will install Plone this afternoon, but I dont know that I can easily make a members only section.

Any help is appreciated.

Unfortunately, you'll find that there are security holes with just about any web application. You'll find them in PHP-Nuke, Post Nuke, and even with pMachine. The key is minimizing your potential security risk. What I've found with PHP-Nuke and the same can probably be said for Post Nuke, is that these two have a very large installed base of users. Therefore, the number of "incidents" reported will be greater. Plus the fact that many of these users have not secured their sites properly. With the open source community that PHP-Nuke and Post Nuke have, the fixes to some of these security holes get posted very quickly.
