Which computer gives me more WUs?

Ia'm not sure about the 400's, but i was running a 766 cel at about 10.5 hours a wu, so a little over 2 a day.

I would guess they would be very, very close. the dually has a few extra mhz but the 2 cpu's have to share the same mb chipset and memory making it slightly slower per mhz. they are both 66 fsb correct?

hmm.. I guess my old P2 233 wasn't so bad in this case as I got two WU's per day out of it like clockwork 😉

If you can raise that fsb at all on either of those you will definitely increase production.
Not likely on the 766 but possible with the dual 400's depending on the mobo.
 
Well, my Celeron 433 is taking a little under 20 hours to do 1 WU. 🙁 And, yes, that's the CLI version - BIOS on that rig has about zero options so I'm pretty much stuck. If it wasn't in a rackmount case, I wouldn't even bother giving it electricity.

 
You'll probably get about the same total per day from both, with the Dual 400's giving slower overall WU times, but processing 2 at a time will give it about the same total as an individual single processor.

You should try another project for that bad boy. My PII-366 notebook has an average WU time of 15 hours. I would run Sandra on it to check the memory speed.

The Celly-2 766 does have 66MHz FSB. But, you should be able to OC it to 83 or 90 Mhz FSB(depending on mobo.) With the OC the 766 will get close to 3 WU/day.

If he's using an Abit BP6 for the Celeron 400's (FCPGA), then no, it won't be possible to do that. There are adapters that will allow you to run FCPGA2 (the newer Celeron, and P3) processors in the board, but that's only in single mode.

Also, all Celerons are SMP locked after they switched to FCPGA2, mainly due to everyone getting a pair of FCPGA ones and a BP6 rather than buying their more expensive P2s!! 🙂
