I'm leaning towards the XFX XXX version, which is around $200. Is there another version from a different company that is as good as that with a lower price?

I will have an x2 3800+ and a EPOX EP-9NPA+ ULTRA

Yea I'd definatley go with EVGA. It's amazing that they allow for overclocking, and different heatsinks like mwmorph said.

There was a good write up on eVGA customer service. I also own a XFX 5900XT that is over 2 years old that had a dying fan. All I did was email them and they sent one right away-no hassles.

either though evga usually costs less. fx has a tranferrable warranty and they have really gotten better from the infamopus 6xxx series crap cards(including the "why the hell are there capacitors missing on the back of my 6800gt" special edition) and crapy support which was about as fun to do as getting run over by a tank for about an hour and a half. Now there are quite a few posts praising the xfx tech support and quality has seemed to pick up too.

evga on the other hand has been top notch for many generations of nvidia gfx cards.

as of currently, get whatever is cheapest.

eVGA doesn't have a true lifetime warranty.

If you don't plan on overclocking get the XFX. That's the one I got. I registered it on their website and it has a double lifetime warranty on it.

Yeah I've seen a trend where graphics card companies send you their card to swap out and then wait for you to send them the broken one. Very convenient. Its nice to know XFX does it this way.

I have an XFX 6800GT (PCI-E) and my only fault with it was the fact that it was running a bit hot.

Replacing the cooler with a VF700-cu completely fixed that issue, and this thing is overclocked to 420/1.14 and is completely stable. I know that it could even go higher than that, i just didn't feel like bothering.

i'd just get the cheaper one.

the only thing i've noticed on evga cards is that the fan speed is 100% on 2d mode (quite annoying).

you can fix that with nvflash and nhibitor or whatever, but yeah annoying though ithink it is like tha ton a lot of brand cards.
