Which company sounds more familar to you?

Verisign ownz and is responsible for the veritablle abortion that is Jamster....they now suck in my eyes...

Their commericals =

The fact that any company would have to put "Trust" in their name is an auto "run the other way" company.

They are all pretty bad imo.

Yep, we use Thawte at work since they charge less than the Verisign parent company.

But if Geotrust is cheaper and browsers have their root cert installed, why not save som money?

Exactly... GeoTrust's root certificates are installed on almost all browsers now... I don't see why you wouldn't want to save some money and use them. I think I'm probably the only person I know that would ever bother to check the signing authority... most people see the padlock, and they're happy.

And most users who come across the warning displayed when a self-signed cert is used just click OK.
