The All-in-Wonders are nice if you're looking for a powerful 3D card and a TV tuner all in one package, but they are expensive. For the price of a Radeon 9700 Pro All-in-Wonder ($365 on Newegg) you could get a Radeon 9700 Pro ($292) and a Leadtek TV2000XP ($51 and a great card) and have $22 left over. Plus a lot of people don't have the money for the top of the line cards from ATi and unfortunately ATi only manufacturers the All-in-Wonders with their top of the line models, so that makes the price even harder to swallow.

I've never had the opportunity to play with the TV features on an All-in-Wonder, but I used to have a TV Wonder VE and it absolutely sucked, horrible driver support and buggy as hell.

i had an ati tv wonder PCI and that was okay i gave it to my dad, I switched to the Leadtek card and its much better but I am still not satisfied, I hear that the Asus TV880 is outstanding but its discontinued and very hard to find, there is a new Asus TVFM 1733 card out but not too clear on how good this card is. I'm looking for one that does video capturing well because I want to record some VHS Tapes onto DVD.

To be fair, my Leadtek card has the s-video from my dish box. The cable coax was just not as good a quality for capturing. And for $50, it was a great bargain. Also, keep in mind that the programs that you use to capture make a big difference too. I use DScaler as it works with many types of capture cards and is open-source.

i don't favor all in wonders because its expensive and ties you down to a video card. unless your desperate for pci slots, it doesn't make much sense. if you game or upgrade even once every 2 years having to buy a new all in wonder each time is a waste. i have 2 pci hauppages that still work, and were first in pentium 1's! :)

hdtv cards are sweet now if you have a signal:) image is stunning.
