Which chipset for non-gaming?

I am building a dedicated PC for use with a CNC Mill. The software vendor strongly advises against an integrated video solution so I'm looking at videocards. I will only be using Computer Aided Manufacturing and controller software but with an inserted window carrying a video-cam picture.

I don't want to spend more than necessary but the low-end seems to have a bewildering choice of chipset; 7200GS, 6200LE, HD2600XT, 8400GS, HD3450 and HD4350. Can anybody advise the best choice?

Does the vendor advise against integrated video just because of the performance? If so, some of those GPUs you listed are weaker or at least barely stronger than some modern integrated chipsets like the 790gx. Maybe something like a 780G/790GX would be more cost effective/efficient?

Or would your software benefit most from a workstation class GPU like a Quadro or FireGL?

The Mill's stepper motors are connected via a controller card and the parallel printer port. The vendor advises against integrated video because it often interferes with the pulse train coming from the port. When cutting metal this can be expensive and/or dangerous! I intend to go with an MSI K9N6PGM2-V motherboard with an Atlhon 64 LE-1640 64bit 2.6MHz cpu.

There's no mention in the Manual. I think that it is hardware agnostic apart from the video issue.

I would then recommend either the 9400gs or the HD4350. I am asuming your using windows of some sort? Any card would work honestly but the newest cards will have a longer support(drivers) life. Especially if you ever decide to use Windows 7 or anything that might come afterward.
