New system for the wife who does game a bit over the network with me.. Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe with an AMD AM2 X2 6000+ or Abit IP35Pro w/ e6750?

Other component of matter is an evga 8800gts 640mb. I have ddr2-800 ram, (2gb) so that will work for either one..

Thoughts? Stability and less messing, more playing is what is needed.. Not overclocked at this point.

Vista Ultimate or XP Pro SP2, not sure yet.

e6750 on ip35 pro is a LOT better. my e6750 at 3.5 runs cooler than my opteron 180 at 2.4. Also, the performance is significantly better from an e6750 than a 6000+ at stock and you'll get a much better oc out of the e6750, too. The e6750 plus ip 35 pro is quite a bit more expensive than the other combo, however. You should be comparing the 6000+ to an e4500 or e6550 if you're looking to spend a similar price on either system.

Spent a few hours looking over data and yes the intel route is a better one for me looks like. The ip35 pro will support the newer stuff coming down the line shortly without breaking a sweat.. thank you for your thoughts :)

I too went the e6750 route and am quite happy with it. I'm still an overclocking learner, but I managed to get it to 3.2ghz with load temps reaching about 54c, running at 1.30v, but of course the Vdroop is at 1.26.
