Which certifications for Database Administrators?

Just wondering which certification I should go for to be qualified to be a database administrator. I know there is the MCDBA certification but I'm wondering if that would be good enough, or if I should look into the Oracle ones. I know that Oracle is used for the databases here at work.

Which is more versatile and which is worth more?

I'm pretty sure you have to be a bitter jackass. I'm not sure of any certs that qualify you for that though...

The orace certs are much more impressive on a resume than the MCDBA ones. The tests are far more rigorous and difficult. The MCDBA ones aren't super easy either, but they just don't carry as much weight.

depends on how you want to start...
10g if u wanna work as an IC upgradding DB's for people
9i if you want to get in there and be an actual DBA for a company
