Which cell phone?

I'm looking to get a new cell phone, my LG C1300 just don't cut it, poor reception, etc.
So, I think I narrowed my choices to the Motorola V551 or the Nokia 6230.
If anyone uses one of these I would appreciate your opinions on them, and any suggestions.

Thanks,
ZoSo

I've had my V551 for just under a month, and the only complaint I have is battery life stinks. I pretty much charge it every night.

i was between the same two choices.

at first i was going to get a v600 but realized the interface sucked and they broke a lot. this led to looking at the v551 , which doesnt break and has a better screen. interface still isnt as easy to use. so i got the nokia. im pretty happy with it. the mp3 player is pretty nifty.

a friend of mine has the v551, and well i do have to say it looks a hell of a lot cooler than the 6230. but the 6230 is smaller and lighter. i wish they offerece the black face plate from europe in america though.

6230 is free after rebate at amazon. i think you get $20 back if you get the v551.

I would never give up my 6230...
got a 512 MM card in it and i use it as an MP3 player and a camera =)

Thanks for the input so far, everyone.
I'm kind of leaning towards the Motorola V551, mainly because it's a flip phone, need the buttons and screen protected due to work environment, plus I looked into what I heard about modding them, and you can mod it up pretty good. I do like the Nokia alot too, especially the idea of being able to change the mem card, just wish they where coming out with there flip line sooner.
Rrrrr, sometimes I hate trying to make my mind up :disgust:

My family just got a bunch of the v551's. I've got a 7610 on the same service. I get 2x the reception that they do. On the previous service they had v300's and I had a nother Nokia. I had 3x the signal they did.

Hands down a Nokia.

I love my V551, it suits my needs perfectly. I had a Nokia for years and wanted a flip phone, so I decided on the V551. I do wish it had a memory expansion slot, but I know that I have absolutely no need for one. The picture quality is nice on the cam. The button layout and menus are set up very well. I get service practically everywhere, though I'm not sure if that's Cingular or the phone. Battery life isn't great though, that's probably my only complaint.

Anyway, its a nice phone. I don't know much about the Nokia, I just know I can recommend the V551.

Haha...that's like the lowest end Verizon phone. My gf and I both sport the Sanyo 7400 on sprint, awesome phones too. The gf's dropped hers several times, but it's protected by rubberized edges. Great screen, streaming tv/video, camera, and walkie talkie all rolled up into one.

from everything i've heard, the 6230 is a much better choice. However, if you have to have a flip phone, the v551 isnt a bad choice.

The expandable flash memory on the 6230 sold me over the V551. I like Motos, and my V400 has served me well, but I think Nokias are more solid and reliable.

Thanks for the input everyone, it's much appreciated.
Still undecided though, I figure within the next week or two I'll decide, hopefully 😉

I have never been a fan of Moto, but my wife has a V551 and from the time I have played around with it, seems like a nice phone.
