I've been checking ebay and there's way too many options for me to figure out.

Basically I want something that is secure and be of good quality.

Ebay ceiling mount link

Is that good, can anyone suggest some to me? I don't wanna spend too much, around $100 or less would be ideal.

Thanks

My ae900 sits on a beautiful ceiling mount made of two 24" stud-grade pine forks and a 1x12x20 hunk of poplar. ~$6.

Works great. Square, level, sturdy, what else could you want? It is a bit homely, though. :frown:

The two mounts you linked both use a small plate that screws to the ceiling. The issue with that is that you can only hit solid wood with two of the screws, as your ceiling system is almost Certainly 2x joists at 16 or 24 inch centers. Depending on the weight of the projector, that might be enough. A better installition would be to mount the base plate on an 18"x18" piece of 3/4" plywood, then screw that to your ceiling joists. That way the plywood is anchored solid and your projector will be as well. Oh, and don't forget to paint the plywood to match your ceiling.

Not a bad idea. But otherwise the mounts are decent?

Another question, the optimal throw distance for my projector and a 92" screen is 18.6 feet. I may have to mount the projector at about 17 feet or so. What happens when you mount the projector close than the optimal distance?

Thw mounts you linked will hold just fine, as long as they are screwed to solid wood.
I'm not sure how distance will affect the picture, though I would assume that it will just get smaller as as the projector gets closer.
