Which of these is better?

Phillips 800 series 8x4x32 PCRW804K17 $130
Creative Labs MK4214 8x4x32 $150

I'm getting one for christmas, and it can't be more than $150. Are either of these good, or are there any other ones that are better? And i want one that burns all cds, not just some.

If you are in the US Best Buy has the philips for $99 shelf price. I have the Philips as one of my spare burners and haven't had any troubles at all with it, comes with CD Creator 4(standard).

Hmmm, some of these people must be doing more exotic things than i am, the Philips hasn't created a coaster for me yet(over 88 discs burned with it, CD-Copy, Data-backup, and Music-CDs)(Matter of fact my Phlips has even created over-burn CDs no problem-749mb Beatles CD for example)...

Never tried the Creative so i can't say how well it works...

Nemesis: What can't you get your Philips burner to do that makes you hate it soo much???

I would highly recommend AGAINST both drives. Phillips makes the WORST CD-RW drives and Creative uses cheap drives made by other companies. I have used drives from both companies and both have failed (Phillips was DOA). You might want to look at THIS drive. It is a MUCH better drive and fits your price range. BTW, MWave is an EXCELLENT place to buy from (and they have excellent RMA speed).

I've yet to hear anyone say a bad thing about a plextor cdrw, though I don't have first hand experience with them.
