Which CD/DVD/Blu Ray burning program do you use?

Been a long time user of Nero since version 6, then 7, then 9, then 2011, 2012, and now finally upgraded to Nero Platinum 2014

The reason I like Nero is because:

1) it has never failed to burn anything I wanted it to

2) It allows me to throw any videos in the DVD creator, then it would do the video conversion automatically for meh so that the videos will play fine on a DVD Player without the need for other programs to do that

3) loves its easy to use interface

I tried once to use the ImgBurn everyone recommends but quickly uninstalled it after I tried to burn an Audio CD and had to read tutorials online, not my cup of tea

On Windows, I used Infrarecorder. I've grown to hate optical media though, and consider using optical discs a small failure.

I'm kinda like you, I only use it these days to burn MP3 discs, I know, why waste $50 USD on such a feature rich program then?

Because I like to have the tools handy if I ever wanted to create a DVD, convert Video files to other formats, and what not

I love the Nero Video and Nero Recode apps in the suite. I use Nero Video to help me quickly flip videos I take with my mobile 90 degrees if the video was taken side ways and it's so easy to do it with Nero Video

PS: InfraRecorder was the first if not the only burning program that is natively x64 and is FREE 🙂

I use a combination of PowerISO, ConvertXtodvd, and Ashampoo on my Windows machine. On my Linux box I use K3b.

I am like Berry; I have used Nero for many years.

LOL I am still running Nero 7 and have gotten so used to it that I have not attempted to update to the latest version. However from your screen shot Berry the interface looks pretty user friendly.

Also it's interesting this came up. I'm off to buy a Blu-Ray reader/burner, so i can watch my BR disks when i can't use the TV 😛. Plus they are so cheap now from last i checked (2 years ago)

CDBurner XP is a great program! I used that many times. Easy interface for sure.

And your right, the blue ray burners/drives have really dropped in price in the last couple of years.

I have PowerISO (paid version), UltraISO (paid version) and also IMGBURN (free) .. all work just fine. I have heard good things about Ashampoo Burning Studio, but I have not used it. Nero was a favorite many years back, when V6 was around. It did not support Blu Ray at that time and has since gotten way too bloated and Nero is sometimes very stubborn about reactivating. You also can only update for Free within the Same Major Version. The two paid programs I mentioned above, allow lifetime updates, even to newer versions. So they are well worth the small cost (much less than Nero). I also have Convertxtodvd for when I need to convert video clips.

I googled the best CD Burning programs and that program never showed up in any of the lists nor have I ever heard of it 😵

First, the singular VSO doesn't just burn, it encodes and burns. The features and the extent to which you can configure every miniscule part, are off the hook.

BUT, I don't burn Blu Rays, only DVDs, so, sorry, it is possible, I will check, that VSO does not yet offer software to do that. 😳

But for converting and burning those, it is PEERLESS.

I gave up on Nero when it became bloated many years ago,nowadays I use Ashampoo Burning Studio 12,I also have Cyberlink Power2Go which I got free with my laptop.
