i'd get the lian li pc-v1000 AND the antec super lanboy. i would build 2 comps. heck, with unlimited money, i'd start my own lancenter with 100 comps wtih super lanboys, dfi lanparties, x800 xt, etc. :)

Looks similar to a G5, great quality, 120mm fans and the drive bezels. In other aluminium cases the optical drives always look out of place, not so in Lian Li cases.

Look at that thing. PSU separated from the rest of the system. MB mounted upside down so the processor is by the cooler air. Absolute best cooling/quiet potential.

I don't think one for me is made. It would be deep, dampened, the video card and CPU having massive heatpipe coolers. There would be a single intake, PSU in line with it, and a single exhaust, ducted through the CPU cooler. One medium sized (8" or so) round fan that could run under 20dB would do all the cooling.

Look at the one I posted the link to earlier... no fans, as far as I can tell... all heatpipes and such. Only runs about $1200 too.

I too dont understand the rage over the lian lis... i mean i see that they are sleek and copy apple... but pop an optical drive in there and replace the flat black cover and all of a sudden... its no longer that sexy... I wish it had a cover of some sort on those optical drives...

The Zalman one allows HDD noise, there's still a PSU that would need cooling. Check SPCR. The Zalman with no fans comes up even with the ARM Stealth that is practically loaded down, due to being solid chunks of metal, and allowing HDD noise to escape. A dampened case with one large yet quiet fan (note the fan would be in somewhat, muffled) would offer variable cooling, and allow overclocking even. Also, I kind of wonder about no fans...what do the ICs on the mobo and cards do with stagnant air after months of operation?

You answered your own question. Also, you can get replacement faceplates for certain optical drives.

Yet they cannot hold a candle to the imac g5... they are the closest immitation of the nicest case on the market... ill give them that much... but the opitcal bay would be a huge hassle.

dont worry about that. cooler master and lian li makes bezels to match the case perfectly.

i wish i could see a lian li in person and judge for myself how nice the case truly is... so far the antec 1080 plus amg is the most attractive... so sleak and minimalistic.. .and this is in the PC sector.. the best case ever, up to date, is the G5... Good god. nuff said.
