I'm building a new computer and I was wondering what kind of case I should get for my new system. I'm looking to spend somewhere between $50-100, but as usual the less the better. Looks is not very important to me, I'm more concerned with ease of use and quality. Do I need a 350 Watt Power Supply, or will a 300 Watt PS do?

These are the two I'm thinking about right now:

Antec KS282+PP303X

Antec SX835 Performance Series Case

I'm thinking I can get a cheaper price than listed at Staples, by Pricematching from competitors and using coupons.

What are you opinions?

Go with Antec, they're top notch cases and make sure you get one of their newer True Power PSUs.

What I've heard is that the older Antec PSUs are are really great PSUs, but the True Powers are even better and are much quieter, but I don't have any personal experience yet to tell you for sure.

Hmm... I was leaning towards the case with the 350 Watt power supply. What's the advantage of having a higher wattage? Allows you to have more devices or more overclocking? I don't plan on OC'ing and I probably won't have a ton of devices. Also, what happens if you don't have enough power? Does the comp crash, or does it not boot up or what?????

Does anyone have a preference on the size, quality and characteristics of the individual cases?

I have both of those cases and I prefer the 835. It's much roomier and easier to work with. On the 282, you have to remove both side panels to add/remove anything in the 5.25" bays whereas the 835 uses rails that slide out the front. The 835 also has better airflow. If price is a concern, check out the Chieftec cases over at Newegg. Chieftec make the Antec cases and they're less expensive. On the power side, you can probably get away with the 300, the 350 would just give you some insurance if you wanted to add stuff.

I'm thinking I'll go with the 835 now. Anyone else have any recommendations? I think I can get the SX835 for about $70 shipped, I think this is a pretty sweet deal. Although I can probably get the 282 for about $40 shipped.

don't mean to be rude, but, as i expalined in the original post, an aluminum case is WAY out of my price range.

Any other suggestions?
