Hello all! I am trying to choose between a CM 690 III, CM Storm Trooper, and Fractal Design Meshify C case. I actually ordered a CM 690 III, but there is still time to return it and choose something else.

I initially thought that the CM 690 III was the most consistent case in terms of reviews, design, etc., but a close friend of mine that owns the case said that the plastic is very cheap and low quality, and then I started to re-evaluate my choice. However, none of the reviews I have seen say anything bad about the build quality, but rather the contrary: it is usually praised.

My priorities are as follows, sorted by importance:

1) Must be 100% covered with easily removable dust filters (top, front, bottom, and sides if side cooler mounts exist). I live in a VERY dusty environment and my current HAF 922 is just unmaintainable. I improved the situation somewhat with a kit from DEMCIFILTER, but the front area is far from perfect and I think the interior design of the case is plain bad. Too bad I only cared about airflow when I bought it. Also, the filters should ideally be removable without having to open the side panels, but that part is not a requirement. (I initially considered a Corsair 400C, too, but too many reviewers noted the fragility of the front panel, which must be removed before the filter can be accessed.)

2) Must have great overall build quality and a good design for SSD and HD bays. I actually like Cooler Master’s more traditional SSD/HD cages in this sense, especially because the new way to mount SSDs (on top of PSU shrouds or on the back of the motherboard mounting tray) requires somewhat flat SATA power cables and I would need to buy a couple of extensors because of my PSU (which uses very thick sleeved cables).

3) Must have a windowed option, be it made of acrylic or tempered glass (maybe favoring acrylic, which should give less potential for headaches).

I really loved the Meshify C, but found out that the front panel has a foam dust filter that is attached to the mesh and cannot me removed individually, therefore possibly making it impossible to completely clean the dust from the foam and the area between the foam filter and the mesh. That is what is killing me about the Meshify C, whereas the Storm Trooper seem to not provide dust filters for the side vents/large mesh.

Currently, I am thinking of keeping the CM 690 III unless I am mistaken about the Meshify C’s front filter or the Storm Trooper’s lack of side filters, but I am in doubt about its build/plastic quality after the remarks of my friend. Therefore, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Those cases vary a lot in size. Did you want a mid tower or full tower?
