Hi folks

Just wanted to get your opinons on these two cases. They look very similar in design. I like the look of the LianLi 6089 with the blue LEDs on the front. The Coolermaster ATC 220 looks very similar in design (the 210 does as well).

I have never really bought an Aluminum case before (stuck with Antec 635's and 835s) so I am kind of a noob in this arena. So a couple questions if I may,

1) Does Lian-li or Coolermaster provide matching face plates for the CDROMS/DVDROMS/Floppy Drives?

2) I was thinking of either an Antec Trueblue 480 or Smartblue 350 - I will probably have a CDRW, DVD, single HD plus maybe a zip drive for legacy reasons.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. If there are known links to the reviews of these boxes or a different thread I have missed, please just let me know.

Thanks again
Peter

Hullo, and welcome.

I recently received my Lian Li PC-6085A case (almost identical to the 6089) and the quality is just amazing. Truly top notch. So naturally I recommend the Lian Li 6089

If that recommendation isn't enough, check this out: http://www.tomshardware.com/consumer/20030211/case-19.html

For the power supply: I bought an Antec SL400 (400W) with that case. It's a two fan PS, $60. Similarly awesome quality :)

Oh, and I know the Lian Li comes with a great many different face plates for various drives.

Both LL and Coolermaster sell faceplates. LL's are specific to the various models of optical drive, while Coolermaster's are "universal". You can find them at Newegg (at the least the LL's) and at PCMods (both).

Thanks for the responses. I actually had an old account on here, but the email address it was tied to is now invalid so I just created a new login: start fresh with a new computer too :)

Just took a look at the LianLi face plates. They don't have many and many seem to be for older versions of drives. That could be very frustrating to try and match the drives and the face plates :(.. I wonder if there are 3rd party manufacturers
