While I await my new phone to arrive, decided I want to get a new carry case for the new one. Right now I use a microfiber sunglasses bag, which works ok, but its too big and unruly to use.

I don't care for the form fitting cases to always keep on, I like my phone naked when I use it, just want something for pocket protection.

Left: Custom job, Polyester with double layered padding, greyish black; $12 shipped
Right: Foofpod, Corduroy with satin interior, thicker padding, black; $25 shipped

Best Skin Ever for the back, power support crystal film for the front. No case, no scratches, perfect.

I'm really only looking at the two in the OP right now, or something similar. I already have the PS Crystal for the front ready and waiting.

Think i'm gonna just go for the foof, I dunno if I like the idea of polyester right up against my iPhone, I think the satin interior of the foof along with the added padding make it a better option.

Also, it looks less like a sock to me :)

How about this one then, Aphex?

$16 after shipping (or $19 w/pocket). From what I hear, Waterfield makes quality products.

I thought about that one for my first gen, but the only thing holding me back is that its a little too unprotected. The other two listed above both have some padding (minimal, but some), the suede jacket, while nice, is just suede.

So how do you use these? You keep the phone in the sock in your pocket... When the phone rings you pull out the sock, take out the phone and then put the sock back in your pocket?

Seems like a lot of work.

Taking it out of the sock isn't nearly as you appear to think. They just slide out, i would guess at most it would take 1 second.

If anything, the slim leather pouch cases would likely be more difficult to answer, and some cases even have a cover that you snap off and fold over.

But all in all, I personally wouldn't consider any of them to really be a lot of work, unless your inordinately lazy. :)
