Here's the cliffs:

Offer #1: DoD division in Dallas that where I will be an Exchange 2003/2007 expert/specialist in a massive environment that should place me in the top 10% of those in the field as far as skills/experience go

Offer #2: NASA (Kennedy Space Center - Houston) where I will be exposed to a wide array of technology and grow my skill base but be more of a jack of all trades in areas like Unix, virtualization, php, scripting, etc.

The pay and benefits are pretty comparable so that isn't really a deciding factor. I'm in a freaking infinite loop here trying to decide which will be the better choice in the long run. It's a win-win for me and my family because they are both great offers in a stable sector....but dang it if I am not going nuts figuring it out.

Personally I'd prefer a job with a good variety to keep me interested so job #2. #1 might be more laid back though.

What's the dress code for them?

Casual for both.

I'd be a little weary of the NASA budget getting whacked when all this debt we've accumulated over the last 8 years really starts to hurt us.

But then again, with a Democrat taking office, DoD contracts may be cut down too.

Tough call.

The NASA gig has more of a novelty factor and a more diversified set of skills you'd work on. Being an Exchange admin could get old/boring even though it's a valuable skill/position to many organizations.

It depends on how you think the world will end. If you believe a nuclear holocaust is a more likely scenario than say an astroid colliding with earth... I'd choose DoD for the extra heads up on the warning of eminent doom. :p
