Which Card?

Hello,

My friend's Geforce 3 ti200 has died. He's looking to buy a new card spending between 80-130 quid. The two cards he's looked at are the 9600SE and 9600 Pro.

How does the 9600SE and 9600 Pro compare to the Geforce 3 ti200, are they more powerful and if so by roughly how much.

If anyone has any suggestions for any other cards to buy close to his price range please reply.

I've tried looking for benchmark's etc. but can't find anywhere that show's ti200 and the latest card's in one benchmark.

Any help appreciated, thx.

Go with the 9600 Pro. If you can spend a little more, definately go for the 9600XT. Good luck trying to find any comparisons to the gfarce 3 200. That card is way long gone.

Go with the 9600 pro.. if it's a tad too high in price, maybe a 9100 would also work good. (they really are decent cards, IMO)

pricing for the 9600pro should be lower now since their 9600XT version is coming out on thr shelves. Not to forget, don't think of the other varient for this ati based GPU other than 9600pro okay.

The above link at Tom's Hardware has benchmarks as far back as the GeForce2 and as recent as the Radeon 9500 and GeForce 4 Ti 4600 all on the same graph. Not the most recent cards are on it but it has been valuable in my look for a card to replace my GeForce 2 GTS. It also has marks for each card running on both an Athlon 1000 MHz and an XP2700+.
