I have a VisionTek Radeon HD 4850 with 512MB GDDR5 I bought at BestBuy when it first came out. http://www.visiontek.com/4000-series/hd-4850-512mb.html

I just picked up a XFX HD-467X-ZDFR Radeon HD 4670 1GB 128-bit DDR2.

Which would play Bioshock or Portal 2 better?

I was told more memory would allow me to play Bioshock at a higher res but with DDR2? I don't know if this XFX card or the 4670 ever came with anything higher than DDR2.

EDIT: From Wikipedia-- The HD 4850 and HD 4870 have 800 stream processors and GDDR3 and GDDR5 memory, respectively.

Thanks for the reply.

I bought the 4670 for a friend's kid anyway but I was curious.

The 4850 will be better in every respect. The 4670 has both a far slower graphics chip and far slower memory. It can't even use that 1 GB, it will bottleneck at shading tasks and memory bandwidth long before that. The 4850 even at 512 MB should max out Bioshock and Portal 2 just fine.
