I am looking at getting a new vid card real soon here and am wondering which one I should get. I am kind of torn between a GeForce2 MX and a GTS, does anyone know which one is better? Also anyone have a good price on these?
I was also thinking maybe I should wait a month for the GeForce3 to come out since GF2 cards will drop in price...I really don't want to spend more than about $200 though...any thoughts?

Im open to all other suggestions on cards as well
 
What would be the main use of the video card in your computer, and what type of games would you play?
 
its definitely a gaming machine, currently I am playing Gunman Chronicles, Oni, Everquest, Giants citizen Kabudo..

lots of FPS games, but I enjoy strategy games and MMORPG's also...
 
i'd say GTS. Giants is a heavy FPS like game...it'll be a lot smoother on a GTS rather than an MX. Plus, the MX is simply a stripped version of the GTS. So all games will be slower than had they been on a GTS.

so basically, stick with the GTS (if u can justify the price difference)

Um, you know the GTS is "better" because the MX is basically a slower version of the GTS right?
 
The GTS is better than the MX and it's under you budget of $200, so I'd definitely go with the GTS. The only advantage to the MX other than price is that you can use dual monitors.
