Which Card should I get?

Here are the two cards I am considering:

x1650xt for $129

or a BFG 7600gt OC for $119

1650xt benches are impossible to find, but many say both cards are similar in performance. My only concern is the 7600gt, as it has no external power connector, I'm wondering if my motherboard can supply it with enough power(please note, I have an Asrock 939dualvsta with only a 20 pin power connector).

You could probably find a 7900gs for little more than a 7600gt. If you can I would say got for that.

The 7600gt is single slot , factory overclocked, lifetime warranty, runs cooler, and is 10$ cheaper. Go with that one.

It also runs louder, takes a bigger hit with AA enabled, and has less features. It it's $10 cheaper, that's because it should be cheaper.

*edit: here are some more benches, from a site not using shimmerfest settings:

But if you can find a 7900gs for a little more, then it's worth the cost; it's significantly faster than the two other cards. Same thing for the x1950gt.

the x16050xt would be a good choice now that will hold you over until ati's dx10 comes out... if u like to play your games at higher quality settings then the x1650 is for you

I ended up ordering both this morning :) One for my son also :)

Both cards are close enough but I will try both and keep the one I like

I am not a high res gamer, 1280x1024 is enough. I just want to play battlefield 2 without choking.

So I also bought an additional gig of ram also.

x1950pro is the better choice.

Of course it is the better choice, but I am currently playing it on a 9800 pro with 1 gig or ram.

running it at 800x600 right now

I should be able to play it comfortably at 1024x768 as I hear it is the lack of ram that causes more studders than anything.

The 7600gt and x1650xt are twice the card of the 9800pro. It is a good update for me and should perform on par with my old X800XL agp that died in November

Update.

Since I ordered both cards and ram, I never realized I never had enough room on my credit card as my payment that I made Wednesday did not go through until today.

So I called and canceled that order and just ordered the eVGA 7900gs instead for $30 more at $179 Canadian(before rebate) along with the gig of ram.

That payment did go through. This card looks to be faster than my old x800xl

That already appears to be factory overclocked to 500mhz from 450.
