i am not sure what the difference but i was thinking if upgrading my card
to either a x800 GTO2 or a 6800GT which would be better?
 
I'm not sure about the Fire Blade or Ultimate editions, but I know the X800GTO2 can be unlocked to 16 pipes, which would make it X850 level. I think the Fire Blade edition can be unlocked too, but I'm not entirely sure. Definitely go with one that can be unlocked to X850 levels. Then you can overclock it to X850XT PE level and have an X850XT PE for uber-cheap, which will kill the 6800GT.

I hear those can be upgraded to hollow points 😉

I'd go GTO2 and unlock personally.
