01 Accord V6 Sedan
-Automatic
-200HP
-Torque of a V6

or

Prelude (97-98)
-Manual
-195HP
-4cyl

will the prelude value keep rising in the next 10yrs? if so approx how much we talking about?

The V6 Accord performs much better, the Prelude looks much better.

But I'm not you.

don't buy a 6th gen V6. The trannies they put in it are garbage. Also, don't buy an auto prelude. Those trannies are garbage too. It sucks, like half the autos honda made in those years were trash. :\

Also, the 6th gen V6 accord doesn't have much low end torque. That engine sucks. It wouldn't surprise me if the manual prelude made about as much TQ at the wheels as the auto V6.

As compared to the other torque monsters that Honda makes?

No it doesn't, the 6th gen V6 accord are trash for performance. They run like low 16s in the 1/4, the prelude is about 1 sec faster.

this is the last gen prelude correct, w/ atts and the more vertical headlamps??

if so, definitely go for it, that thing drives like its on rails - it didn't win car and driver's best handling car under 30k for no reason, not to mention holding up very very well against cost no object cars like viper, vette, not to mention ferraris

go for it, if you can afford it!

Hondas current designs are decent, but that generation V6 was trash.

roflmao, the 6th Gen V6 Accords are slow. You have no idea what you're talking about.

And what kind of idiotic question is this? Accord can't be mentioned in the same sentence as "performance enthusiast". That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

Er... I was thinking they had 240 or 260hp. The new Accord coupes look pretty sporty.

I was just choosing between the two cars presented. I wouldn't associate any honda with performance... except the NSX.

I'd much rather have the Prelude than the Accord. But the Accord would make a much better daily driver.

I'd still take the Prelude though.

The stats are listed in the very first post :p It's the 7th gen (03-04s) that have 240. They're good for about low 15's/high 14's, depending on driver and auto/manual.

I'd go with a Prelude, but that's only because I'm a biased owner of one ;)

I did look at the 97 Accord at one point when considering the Prelude. I'm single and don't need a family sedan, don't need 4 doors. The ones I looked at already started to develop rusting and pricing wasn't great either. So in the end I didn't go with it.

My pop already has a Safari van and we recently got an Intrigue, so no need for another sedan as I'll just be using it to drive to and from work 99% of the time anyways. Sure the back seats are cramped, but for us small asians it's ok. I do hear the occasional b!tching from the passengers, but to hell with you, it's my car. Don't like it, get the fcuk off of it!! :p heh

Depends on your needs. Insurance wise, it costs the same as the 2002 Intrigue we bought 2yrs earlier.

Its not even a fair contest.
Last generation Accord V6 only comes in auto so thats automatically eliminated.

So the Accord performs well under its rated torque?

No, rating should be correct, it's just auto tranny sucks up more HP/TQ so you see less at the wheels.

s2000?

I purposely excluded the s2000. :p

But it is a pretty sporty car. Just... not for me. I'd take the z4 or boxster over it. The Honda just doesn't do it for me.
