The Matrix looks like the Echo transformed into a wagon with a bodykit...it looked nice in the pictures but it looks like crap in person. Its un-proportional like the Echo, too high and stubby.

<< Out of curiosity, why are you choosing out of those two if your name is SUBxWRX? >>

I was originally going for the WRX......I've been keeping my eye on that car for a while. Great and powerful car. However my budget isn't up to that level of the WRX...... Looking for something under 20k......The SE-r and the Matrix are currently my top choices. Both are powerful cars (180hp) which is one of the things i'm looking for . SE-r looks alot better..sporty look...nice interrior .... Matrix on ther other hand is more unique, and Toyota cars seem to be more reliable than Nissan.

<< please dont' get the sentra spec V.. it is a horrible car for the money.. read the reviews in a couple of sites.. you should definately inveset your money in the wrx instead or wait later on this year for the sti imprezzaa or the evo VII from subaru and mitsubishi respectvely.. but don't get the sentra!!

as for the matrix, it's a good car but doesn't have enough power given the options.. 180 fwd vs 160 awd.. i don't know about that.. plus it looks kind of funky.. more teenager..,

definately get the wrx, and if u want a wagon, there's always a wrx wagon version! =)
get manual..

I'd say the complete oposite as above - owners will tell you if the car sucks, magazines can be paid to say otherwise!

Like I said, out of all the cars available today, I narrowed it down to the Sentra SE-R or the Honda Accord Coupe. I bought the Accord Coupe and haven't looked back, however the fact that I was even considering the Sentra means that it's a great car, and well worth the $$$....if only it came in leather! ;)

Also, Nissans are definitely right up there in terms of reliability with the other Japanese manufacturers.

If they only offered something other then that "lava" cloth interior on the Spec-V model... how about black leather with red stitching Nissan? At least that would be more bareable :)

How about a VW GTI 1.8T? 180hp and 174lb./ft. of torque make it a FAAAAAAAST car. (much more so than the Sentra or Matrix). They start at $18,910 (still nicely equipped) and the interior is not butt ass ugly like the SE-R.

Not to mention if you throw a $325.00 Upsolute chip in there, you are pushing over 200hp and 220lb./ft. of torque. :D

<< MATRIX :D

but then again i'm biased, since i just bought one... It drives like a dream! I know we're only supposed to go under 55 for the first 500 or so miles... but this car has a mind of its own.. it wants to go 70 :Q and i gotta let it do what it wants to :)

And after 1400 hours or so it will want a new engine. If you plan on keeping it you'll want to pay attention to little things like the break-in period and maintenance schedules. Even if you plan on selling it after a couple of years you'll probably want a decent value on it, right? Don't drive it like a rental unless it is one... :D

Is there anything about the Matrix that makes it attractive other than its carefully selected name?

Nissans have quality issues? Pass the doobie, dude!!

No but really I'd pick the sentra if only because Nissan owns me. The matrix having a more practical cargo room could be a good help to you though. Honestly you should test drive both and look at the specs and prices of both. We can tell you only so much. Last year I was picking between a golf and sentra and I was sure I wanted a golf until I test drove both. This isn't a hit on golfs but the sentra just felt better to me; see which one u like.
