I'd have to test drive the Caliber and the HHR and see which I preferred.

Well let's see - the Scion looks like cross between a shoebox, a locomotive and an iron. The caliber is just plain fugly - did someone take a durango and shrunk it down?

PT's looks are now kind of dated, so HHR might be it. It actually looks pretty decent in that electron blue color.

Yuck. I'd rather buy a used crown vic, mustang, camaro, firebird or trans am for half the cost of any of those cars...

HHR or Caliber. HHR got good reviews, but the Caliber is more appealing to me despite the so-so reviews.

But I'd rather not have any of them.

You ever gonna get a car for yourself and stop asking these damn questions?

Agreed.

However, if you had to choose one, I would go with the caliber. My MIL just bought one, and it's nice. I like the size/utility aspect as well.

HHR - Fugly. Don't get me wrong, the xB is fugly too, but at least that is unique. This thing is just all around terrible looking.

xB - Meh. It's got a unique design, but that's about all its got going for it. Too ricer-esque for me

PT - As said before, the PT had its time... but it has been years since that day. It looks dated now.

I don't know much about the calibur and don't like the others, and so would choose the safe bet of scion.

The Caliber still suffers a lot from that CVT. Why, oh why, did Dodge have to put it on both of the upgraded engines?

Just about exactly where I'm at. Where I live Calibers are still in very short supply, but I did get to sit in one and I liked the spaciousness of the interior, and I like the way it looks. I'm not sure about the CVT automatic, or if I think Dodge can make a really fuel efficient small motor. This is the car I'm leaning towards though, once the inventory is big enough that I can get a good deal.

I like the looks of the HHR, and I think the motor in these is quite efficient. I think it's possibly a bit too expensive for what it is, and while the chopped top look is cool, I have a feeling that from the inside the windows are too small. I had this problem with the PT Cruiser I owned for awhile.

I would add the Pontiac Vibe/Toyota Matrix as another option, for me anyway.

edit- I test drove a Mazda 3, and while I like the way it looks, and I can see why it appeals to people who like small cars, my overall impression is it feels like a small car. By contrast the Caliber feels a lot bigger than it is. Just to sit in at least.

PT-Cruiser w/ Turbo!

Leather, moonroof, 4whl discs, 17" wheels, SRT powertrain. Useful interior.
