I have a gf2mx 400. Its an oem.

From left to right it has what appear to be capacitors, inductors, capacitors?(they're darker than the first and third row of caps), inductors, row of black "resistors", and capacitors.

My question, is that row in the middle, the ones that are darker, are they capacitors? Do i take them off too?

Sorry no camara so I cant post pics. Can someone help me out here, or show me a site w/ a lot of pictures?? I've already gone to the sites in the thread regarding the article on this, no help. This is a generic card, but it differs from the reference card.

Perhaps you can start by telling us what brand it is... different manufacturers use slightly different board layouts and components... yes reference design is used, but a resistor might be placed in a different area, or a capacitor might be different/fewer in number...

If this info is unavailable/cannot be found, maybe a serial/part# will help...

I'm assuming youre trying to the visual quality improvement mod by taking off the rows of capacitors near the 9-pin video signal connector... there was a post somewhere that had pics... search for "geforce card mod" or something like that...

oh, heres an idea... use the nvidia bios utility to dump a copy of your geforce2mx400 bios... the manufacturer info will be in the bios... this was how some people with leadteks(or was it some other brand) geforce3's figured out that their cards were made by MSI...

Theres letters and numbers next to all of them. The notation of them look the same. I cant give you exact values right now, cuz the card is in the box. I'll do it later this weekend.
