which camera is the best?

it all depends on your needs, such as zoom, size, mp, etc.

and do not listen to any of the canon fanboys. some canons are great and some are not but they are definately not the only cameras out there.

But it's okay to listen to the Nikon or Sony fan boys?

i'll be the first to admit that i support canon and nikon, but i'm more partial to canon p&s than nikon and am more partial to nikon dslr than canon. 😛

it really all depends on the featureset though. under $200 can be very limiting, but not necessarily, depending on what is desired. there are some very good kodak P&S cameras (not ultracompact, but who cares?) in that price range, and i'd recommend researching those as well.

I'd recommend anything BUT kodak. Sony, Fuji, Nikon and Canon all make great compact P&S, as does Pentax.

You have to admit Canon beats the crap out of Sony. So does Nikon. I would stick with Canon or Nikon for their superior lenses. Sony fanboys are just as good as retards. Go shoot yourselves. But honestly... Canon is great for a small P&S camera.

ok so I may be able to get $350. Can you please specify exact models. I will not be buying online. Im in the UK so I expect to pay 20% more than US retail prices.

Are you looking for a really compact model? Features?
