to connect my time warner hd box to my HDTV which has both DVI and HDMI inputs?

Also should I be spending morethan 30 bucks on the cable? (gefen and monster worth the price?)

a digital signal would work fine through a coathanger if you could rig it up, so no, extra money on the cable isn't worth it

Which box? The 8300? If so, then HDMI. If the 3250 (or whatever the non-dvr model is) then DVI.

Im going to swap it out monday morning. Im not getting DVR, and from some search I know that most likely will get the SA 3250 model.

So HDMI does audio too right??
If I go DVI, then wont I have to also run component audio to component audio of the tv?

EDIT: ill have to go audio separately anyways...since i dont think ill get an hdmi output on the box.

Oh, then yeah, if you arent getting DVR, then you will get the 3250.

It has DVI. You will just run RCA cables (red/white) from the box to the TV.
