I'd just buy it from Apple, OR a reputable 3rd party. Monoprice makes some pretty good quality cables, and since they sell their own stuff direct there's basically no chance of fake cables. Anker is another solid option, but they primarily sell on Amazon which means that the same risks apply as with the Apple stuff.

I've been turned off anker ever since my first purchase with them. After 8 or so years, my OEM hp laptop charger died and I purchased an anker. It literally fell apart within a couple weeks of using it so I wrote a bad amazon review. They wound up sending me another one and the exact same thing happened to that one in two weeks. I'm guessing every time I charged my laptop, the glue holding the charger together would melt, resoldify when it cooled down, then eventually wear down (in approx 2 weeks!). Long story short, I've never purchased another one if their products and will continue to refuse to do so.
