Which cable do I need to connect my two routers and how should I connect them together?

I am going to connect my two routers together and wonder whether I should use regular or crossover ethernet cable. My two routers are a Linksys WRT54G Version 1.1 and a Linksys BEFSR41 Version 2. My WRT54G will be connected to the cable modem. I will use the BEFSR41 to connect one of my other PC's and PS2's. The BEFSR41 will be receiving the Internet from the other router and it has a WAN port, 4 regular ports, and an UPLINK. What port should I connect the cable coming from the WRT54G? Also, which type of cable should I use? I would prefer to use a regular ethernet cable if this is at all possible. Thank you for any help.

If you just want you use the second Router as an additional switch.

Use a straight cable connection a regular port on the wrt54 to the uplink of the second router.

You need to configure the second router to be a dumb switch.

The instructions are for Wireless but the principle applies to any Router.

Thanks a lot for your help. Now I'll order the cat 6 cable and the data cable staples. I wonder if anyone makes a white cat 6 cable and white data cable staples? I currently have other wires and data cable staples ran, but none of them are white. Thanks again.
