Which brand of satelite radio do you prefer?

so my gym's had sirius for a long time, I liked it a lot, no commercials, no dj's, easy to find alternative/rock/whatever you want really.

The other day I go in there and some garbage is on....then there's a dj who sounds like an ass. Then more horrible music. Turns out they got XM to replace Sirius. It's HORRIBLE there's no clear channel names on the display, I can't find any station that plays anything close to what sirius plays on their Alternative channel (if you know what station is like that on XM please chime in). I just don't like it at all.

Sirius content is indeed better. After listening for a few days and getting recommendations, that's what I'm putting in my car this weekend. Got the Starmate Replay and can't wait to install it. 🙂

i highly enjoy my sirius....much better than the old xm i had and compared to my bro-in-laws xm that he has now, the sirius is much better

I've only been using Sirius for a year, but love it. Not sure how it is now, but I've heard that XM has much deeper playlists and you'll hear many different (and sometimes unknown) artists. With Sirius, the playlists aren't as deep and mainly focus on newer and old hits.

Although, I mainly listen to the hard rock and alternative rock channels on Sirius, and have noticed the playlists seem to be getting deeper over the past few months. When I first got the service, I was sort of disappointed because I heard Pearl Jam's Jeremy 3 times in 1 day. Now, it doesn't seem to be so bad.

Then again, compared to my Clear Channel terrible local stations, I'd listen to Sirius if their playlist was only 10 songs. 🙂

Pwned. Sad, but true.

I prefer XM based on the fact they have the Opie & Anthony radio show. If they weren't on there, I wouldn't get either.

I have both. Sirius has better alternative rock and plays mostly the top songs. XM digs deeper and plays a lot of obscure artists as well as obscure tracks from mainstream artists. I enjoy Opie & Anthony on XM but Stern is coming to Sirius 1/9/06.

Overall I prefer Sirius.

all i can say is that after my $60 for a year special for the XM Radio in my car is up next Mar, I am not renewing....

Hasnt this been covered before?

Anyway this is actually at the top of my xmas list. I would really love to get XM..mostly becuase i know people thathave it and its awesome. I am not huge on talk radio so I dont really care about howard stern either. To me the biggest draw to XM is the MLB. Football, bball, NHL are great games but are much better to watch on TV. To me listening to a baseball game on the radio is great..its a kind of game where you dont need to really see EVERYTHING going on at once.

I have XM in my truck and I love it. Never really listened to Sirius but I've been thiking about getting it for my boat next summer. *shrugs* I like the look and layout of the Sirius recievers a lot better.

My opinion is this... yes XM has more obscure tracks, of course when half of them suck, it doesnt make much of a difference. I mostly listen to Octane, and their playlist is usually pretty good. XM Ive listened to Squizz, and yes they play more stuff, but quite a bit of it isnt good, so I found myself changing channels far too often.
