Which brand of 6800GT is best?

I'm in the market for a new video card. I assumed for the money, the 6800GT was my best choice. I need an AGP style card. I don't have the money to upgrade to Athlon 64/ PCI-E yet. Anyway, I was wondering which maker of the 6800GT is the most popular or best. My monitor is analog, so I need at least one analog port. Thank you.

Even Dual DVI cards come with DVI->VGA adapters (at least one of them), however most AGP 6800GT's are not Dual DVI anyway. 😛

BFG and eVGA cards are often recommended around here. I personally have a PNY 6800GT and have had no problems with it.

i'd go evga but i've had other pny and asus cards and had no problems. evga has great service and usually priced right. i've had 4 evgas recently and all have been great.

people always seem to like the bfg but i can't really justify paying the premium for a lifetime warranty i'll never see or the "oc" which can be easily had by almost any 6800gt.

Gigabyte GV-1. Two 6800GT's, holy shiit.

AGP: Leadtek, heaviest HSF, lowest price, good bundle, excellent ocing.
PCI-E: Cheapest u can find + ZALMAN Cooler.
PCI-E Alternate: Gigabyte Heatpipe 6800GT, really one of the most beautiful card.

Leadtek, unless you have a really tiny case and can't afford to lose a slot (or some other wierd religious objection to two slot coolers). Quiet fan too.

While other people have bashed PNY, I myself have a PNY AGP version and sure it's stock cooler and such but it runs great, no problems! Had it since August of last year too. But it's up to you

My BFG GeForce 6800 GT OC is great! I love the warantee as well, which really matters to you once you've had a bad experience with a card.

Speaking of bad experiences I first ordered one of the Leadtek variations on this chipset. Had to RMA it, recieved a replacement and had to RMA it as well. No way will I ever buy a Leadtek product again. Their customer support was aweful. Worst of all, I've seen a few other posts of like experiences with them on these boards. No way.

BFG all the way!

Gainward also for OCing. I was able to take my Ultra to 510

BFG and Leadtek are the best. If you plan to OC on stock cooling get a Leadtek. If you plan on just running on stock speeds get a BFG. Stay away from PNY, MSI, XFX.

Interesting posts. I too am in the market for a new 6800GT but I'm looking for the PCIe version. I've been leaning toward BFG, but am also very interested in which cards have the best heatsink/fan combo as far overclocking is concerned and noise.

Does anyone have any recommendations for PCIe looking at these issues?

Also, does anyone know of any comparisons of the various 6800GT cards?

Thanks.

Are you plaaning to do sli? If not, get an x800xl; they are cheaper and perform about the same.
