Which brand harddrive?

I've decided to get a 60gig, 7200 rpm harddrive. Particulary, I want one that's quiet and also relatively reliable if possible. Considering these factors, which brand should I get? Any comments or suggestions? Thanks.

I use Maxtors and Western Digitals in all my configs that I sell.
In budget machines I put in Seagate OEM drives.

I am running 2 Western Digitals WD600AB (60-GB 5400-RPM) in my Rig without probs.

the maxtor 740dx's are nice, and so are the seagate barracuda IV's, those are basically silent, and also fast.

can't comment on WD, and IBM's have a bad history, although it was only one series of hdd's that were bad, i don't trust them after that, at least not for a while.

IBM is okay.....don't listen to others.....only the 75GXP was bad.....and other companies have had bad models just like IBM with the 75GXP.

To conclude what everyone said, all brands are great(Maxtor, Seagate, and WD) except IBM's have a bad history of dying. As far as I know the seagates are the quietest and I think the fastest drive is a SE WD but it's expensive. So I would recommend just finding which one fits your budget the best. Hope that helps.
