Which brand for laptop memory?

I just purchased a Dell XPS Gen 2 and I plan on buying 2 GB of RAM for it, but I really don't know which of these brands is the best. The only 2 brands I really buy for desktops is Mushkin and Corsair, so I'm not really sure what to do here.

Any recommendations?
 
As long as you get something with the lowest CL rating you can find (for DDR2 mostly CL4), it doesn't much matter. DDR2 SODIMM's aren't really found in a "high performance" variety yet
 
I recommend Crucial. Great quality, stability, service, and lifetime warranty. They have never let me down in years.

I vote for crucial as well, legendary reliability and good prices
 
Kingston KVR533D2S4/1G is what I am using in my XPS2 at the moment. Dont worry about cas ratings because the dell will revert to the bios defaults not the spd's
Lifetime warranty.
 
What do people think about Kingmax for my Dell 6000, it's the only DDR400 memory my local store carries.

Edit: I'll just start a new thread on this as no one is answering in here... then again it's off topic..

You won't notice any difference. As another user pointed out, most of the time a laptop BIOS will default to the standard timings. Laptops are built for stability, not high-end performance. Just get the Kingston for $215, lifetime warranty and good quality :thumbsup:
 
I just picked up an extra gig of Kingmax from Newegg which cost me ~$103 including shipping. Works perfectly next to the stick of Crucial in my Inspiron 9200.
 
Does Pentium M (533 FSB) benefit from running dual channel? I'm aiming for 1GB in my i9300, and I'm not sure whether I should go for 1x1GB or 2x512MB.

Also, would I be better off running DDR400 @ CL 2.5 or DDR 2 533 @ CL 4? Thanks in advance.
