I'm curious aboutcanned oysters, but the ones I have tried are the lower cost store types such as from places like Rulers Food and some of the dollar stores. So they taste very nasty. And they are always packed is such oils such as cottonseed and soy.

So you oysters lover when you buy canned oysters, which brands do you get?

I don't think a real oyster lover would buy a canned oyster.

I like mine fresh and steamed or fried.

Unfortunately all of the canned Chinese oysters I've tried have been at best okay and at worst inedible. On the other hand I've had some I bought in Maine which were really good. (and expensive for a can!)

I do sometimes eat the cheap Chinese ones with crackers and beer. The best commonly available brand I've had is Bumblebee.

I'm right or almost right smacked in the middle of the country. I never had fresh oysters before and I'm not sure I can easily get them where I'm at.

Yeah the last can I tried was from China, blah I only at ate a few pieces and threw the rest away.

You can get canned raw or smoked in most any grocery store here.

If you want good oysters you will want them alive in the shell. Eat the raw, steamed or fried.
