updated with new question!

after changing the brake pads (with rotors turned), the car's braking has become spongy and soft as described by Skoorb's experience.
Do I need to bleed the brake lines? (ie: will it brew a potentially larger problem if I ignore it?) Right now, the "spongy braking" isn't irritating at all, even though I would like them to be firmer.

If you just replaced the pads, you don't need to bleed anything. If you opened up any of the brake lines, then you do.

If its spongy, you may have put the wrong kind of pads on, or they still need some adjustment / 'brake' in.

oddly, it is either I am getting used to it or the brakes are breaking in....
