which board is good for gaming and movies?

depends on which of the 2 you do more of. Nvidia can't hold a candle to ATI when it comes to 2D in my books. Still, if I were you I'd pay a little more and get an x800 XL. They're pretty cheap right now in some places and great bang for the buck. I got mine at a little more than half what a 6800 GT would have cost and it's just as fast, if not faster in some cases.

I have a 6800nu and it's great for both gaming and movies. (espcially if you use the NVDVD codec). The 2d image quality is just as good as any ATI card I have seen. With the 6800 you can also play around with SM3.0 & HDR in games. The 6800 is also a lot more powerful than the 9800

Some manfuatures of nVidia based graphics cards have been known to make cards t have good 2d quality due to a lack of quality control on the other hardware that goes onto the boards, but nothing is inherently wrong with the 2d quality of nVidia chips.
