Hello, I have an Asus A7V133 and have been using the 1004 BIOS since I got it a few months ago. I noticed on the English Asus site they have version 1005a and on some other languages (German for example) they have 1006. Which BIOS should I use? Does 1006 have more fixed that the earlier one doesn't? Thanks for any help :)

If your PC runs OK with V1004, then my advice would be to stick with that.
A lot of stress has been caused to a lot of people who upgrade BIOS for the sake of upgrading.

This however, may not be the opinion of the masses. The temptation to upgrade is strong!

I am using bios 1.006i beta... I think that is correct version..I see no siginificant improvement over 1.004...

I agree if it is not broken do not fix..a bad flash and the board can die or the bios can lead to new problems..

So why do I flash....I always new will be better...and I am a moron???... no comments needed to support this

Thanks ..LOL

Yo,
Used the 1004_beta BIOS (which fixed the Soundblaster Live! stability issue), worked fine for weeks. Later upgraded to the 1005a June 6th BIOS and have been sailing along without a hitch. Can safely recommend the 1005a after two months of hardcore abuse on my rig.

Good luck,
PCM

I guess I'll just use the 1005a one, of course the only reason being wanting to have the latest software installed hehe, it must be some kind of afflicition like wanting the latest and greatest hardware even if your rig is doing fine as it is :)
