LMAO!

I don't get how someone can even do something THIS bad. lmao. wow. Romex outside, just going through a hole, classic. I don't even think they weather sealed that hole, but that's probably the least of their problems at this point. And all those extension cords and splices. Wow, just wow.

It's a shame because looks like a nice outdoor garage and house from what I can see.

Evidently they've had that setup for a while because where it goes to the 16 gauge brown extension cord, there is paint over part of the cord up near the door frame.

If it ain't broken, don't fix it right? I guess this is why we have NEC codes but these poeple don't like those.

Does the color of an extension cord correlate to the quality of it's power delivering abilities? Is it similar to how blue PCBs are known to be superior than green PCBs?
It's not grounded. And it's thin, which means it's probably another amperage bottleneck.

I don't think it's as likely to catch fire as the light socket, but I could be wrong.

Chances are it's "safe" as far as amperage is concerned as garage door openers don't operate for long, but it will be an issue if they decide to plug a table saw, heater and other things into that power bar. That extension cord is probably rated for about 8 amps.

Proper way would have been to run a proper 100 amp feed in conduit to a sub panel in the garage and run everything off there. For the garage door opener you just put plugs in the ceiling. It would be cleaner, safer, and to code.

I'm not saying it is something I would leave to sell my house with but it looks like it was a temporary to instillation to me. Like i want to see them work! Over time I would clean it up.

Would have been better off getting a 14 gauge 3 prong extension and just plugging it into an outside outlet on the house, and running it under the garage door. But yeah you never know with some people.
