If I was buying a nwe mobo I'd probabaly go for nVidias nForce 415, performance equal to the KT266A, and users report great stability and drivers.

And Asus' K7N266-C has one erally nifty feature, even if you overclock the FSB, it will keep the AGP/PCI at 33/66 MHz, making the CPU and memory the only bottlenecks, great for overclocking.

On a sidenote, I have no problems with my KT266A based Epox 8KHA+.

<< SiS, ALi, AMD, stay away from Via shipsets.. >>

Stay away from via chipset? PAAAAALEASE that argument is no longer relavent IMHO My last 5 upgrades where using the via platform with count them ZERO problems. That includes using both AMD and Intel CPU's....People who have problems with the chipset fall into these following catagories 1) Improperly load the drivers 2) Lazy and do not update drivers 3) General incompetence in system building,

To answer your question buy a mobo using the via KT266A chipset if you are going with an AMD CPU
