Definately not 939 since you mention price/performance as a factor. 754 is still very attractive right now; prices are good and it isn't going away anytime soon. I can't really speak to the mobiles, but there is a good thread in the Motherboards forum about them. They seem like a good bet as long as you're sure your motherboard will work with them.
depends.. if you would decide on jumping on the 939 platform i would advice you to wait for a while. socket 939 will be AMDs mainstream platform while 754 will eventually be their value platform when the semprons arrive. hopefully this will stabilise the 939 cpu prices. I will upgrade my comp now late december/Early January and i sincerely hope that the prices will be cut to my expectations by then. if I would buy a today though I would go for a socket 754 A64 3000+ which seems to be the best bang for the buck atm. (among the A64 series that is)
Basicly, if you want good performance now for little money go mobile. If you want more longelivity head AMD 64 route.
